Michael O. McCollum, MBA brings over three decades of finance, accounting and operating experience with growth focused, private equity backed, technology enabled companies to New Mexico Venture Studios. His career spans fast growth public and private companies and includes a stint in the public sector with the State of New Mexico Office of Broadband Access and Expansion (OBAE). 

Mike has built communications networks, both terrestrial and wireless, in dozens of small towns.  He knows first hand what technology and jobs can do for a local economy. 

Mike claims 5th generation, almost native, New Mexican status. There is a small town in the southeast corner of the state, Otis, which is Mike’s middle name. Otis McCollum was a railroad engineer in the late 1800’s who ran out of track so decided to homestead just south of Carlsbad, NM. 

Mike is a proud Caveman, Carlsbad High School, Class of 1982.
